The unique and patented design front loading system means a wheelchair can be reversed onto the platform which is then raised hydraulically.
To access the RPV4x4 the front platform is lowered to ground level using the RPV4x4's integral hydraulic ‘kneel’ mode. This ‘kneel’ function lowers the front platform to ground level to form an access ramp allowing the wheelchair to be reversed in. To ensure complete safety the wheelchair is securely locked into position using a variety of fixing methods designed specifically to suit manual or electric chairs. A three point safety harness is also available if required. The platform then lifts to its working height and the front edge returns to the vertical safety position.
2 hydraulic rams (cylinders) raise and lower the platform and this is connected by a linkage to the front edge. This moves to the vertical position when the main platform is fully raised.
